The Members of APBMT

Dear colleagues:
How have you been?
Nine months has past since the last congress and the 12th Congress organized by Professor Dao-Pei Lu is coming soon. As the current representative of the Executive Committee of APBMT, I would like to report comprehensively what has happened during these periods.

  • Asian BMT Registry (ABMTR) started under the steering by the Executive Committee of APBMT (Kodera, Lu, Kim, Issaragarisil and Ghavamzadeh).
  • The secretarial services have been initiated by Suzuki, Yoshimi and Atsuta at APBMT office in Nagoya.
  • CIBMTR proposed ABMTR to join the working group for creating the common registration system, the first meeting of which was held in Orland during ASH Meeting in the last December. The APBMT office sent the circular to notify the scientific committee of APBMT, then Drs. Kim, Suzuki, Atsuta and myself attended the meeting and introduced the current status of APBMT and ABMTR. The working party has been organized including ABMTR and initiated the business.
  • The meeting of the working party was then planned to be held in Keystone during the Tandem Meeting in the last February, therefore the office of APBMT again sent the circular to the scientific committee of APBMT and finally I attended to the meeting. The details of the common CRF were discussed.
  • The office of APBMT made the initial search form for ABMTR and asked the scientific committee to fix and to start the registration in the beginning of the last March. The office is now getting the answers from certain countries.
  • EBMT proposed to join the first meeting for creating global standards for patientsf registration, therefore the office again sent the circular to the scientific members of APBMT. The meeting was held in Lyon during the 33rd EBMT Congress in the end of the last March. The members from Korea, India, Yoshimi and myself attended the meeting. The status of APBMT and ABMTR were introduced. The importance to create the global standards for patientsf and also for donorsf registration was confirmed.

Everything moves so fast nevertheless, I feel the tight communication among APBMT members is the most important factor to make these movements fruitful.
