What is APBMT?

The Asia Pacific Blood and Marrow Transplantation (APBMT) group is an organization, which allows physicians in Asian countries involved in clinical bone marrow transplantation to share their experience and develop co-operative studies. The APBMT group was directed by two initiative doctors, Dr. Tohru Masaoka and Dr. Lu-Xian Cao in 1990. They held early APBMT meeting in China and Japan from 1990 to 1994 as presidents. Since then, the meeting has been held annually or biyearly.
The APBMT aims to promote all aspects associated with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation including basic and clinical research. As a symbol of APBMT, the HSCT Registry has been established in 2006.
